Media Engagement

We build relationships to connect reporters with experts in the science regarding nicotine and tobacco. We also build capacity of researchers who wish to engage more with the media.

The public discourse is currently dominated by prohibitionist perspectives.

The media plays a critical role in shaping public understanding of tobacco and nicotine. Health reporters often turn to the same sources, many of whom come from leading tobacco control entities that promote a prohibitionist perspective.

At the same time, there are strong researchers and policy experts who can speak to the continuum of risk across nicotine products and the need to provide better options for adults who want to quit smoking.

We aim to serve as the primary hub for connecting health reporters with these alternative voices and bringing greater balance to the public discourse on tobacco and nicotine.
